Qualifying Tournament

NB: all countries which reached the third stage of the Asian section of the
    2018 World Cup qualifying tournament are automatically qualified for the
    final tournament of the 2019 Asian Nations Cup: Saudi Arabia, Australia,
    Qatar, Iran, Japan, Thailand, South Korea, Uzbekistan, Iraq, Syria and
    China (the UA Emirates were already qualified as hosts).

Playoff Round - First Stage

NB: the four worst fourth placed teams (Malaysia, Tajikistan, Maldives, Taiwan) and the
    fifth placed teams (East Timor, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Cambodia, Laos, Yemen) 
    of the second stage of the Asian section of the 2018 World Cup qualifying tournament
    enter, to determine eight entrants for the group stage (so three teams to be eliminated)

    placed teams (Palestine, Kyrgyzstan, Hongkong, Turkmenistan, Singapore, Vietnam,
    Kuwait, Philippines) and the four best fourth placed teams (Guam, Afghanistan,
    Myanmar, Bahrain) of the second stage of the Asian section of the 2018 World Cup
    qualifying tournament enter, together with the eight winners of the above playoff
    round;
    note that Kuwait is currently under a FIFA suspension and will be disqualified if
    that is not lifted prior to the draw of the group stage.
